We enjoyed our stays at Osprey Marina and Myrtle Beach Yacht Club as we worked our way through both the south and north ends of Myrtle Beach.

We decided to stay at Myrtle Beach Yacht Club a couple of days because there were some expected thunderstorms and while it did rain some the strong storms never materialized.

Not that we are complaining.

At all.

So we headed out in less than ideal weather but you know the show must go on!

There are many sights along the way that you will not see unless you go on the Great Loop.

You know there’s a story here of intrigue ending with loss.

The homes along the way are really interesting.

Look at these mansions set back beyond the marsh with long docks stretching out toward the water.

Even found a few for sale in case you’re interested.

You wouldn’t think that anyone would be out on such a dreary day but once again, the jet ski rental business is in full swing!

And of course, the fishermen are out.

Nothing is going to stop them.

Check out this boat storage place.

Isn’t that cool?

It’s no wonder we have seen so many of this size boat zipping around!

I am always surprised when there is a lot of traffic out on a dreary day.

I guess you get to go when you want to go!

We passed an interesting looking neighborhoods in the Ocean Isle Beach area.

We found out that this sailboat was from Dallas!

Not surprising that you don’t see a lot of boats from Texas in this area.

Look how long those docks are!

You could get a good walk in just going from the house to the boat a few times.

The blue sky teased us all day.

The Southport Marina was very nice and we enjoyed our stay there very much.

Robert and Kay Creech invited us and Short Vacation over for “wine on the porch” aka Docktails.

They are the 2019 AGLCA Harbor Hosts of the Year and their hospitality is most likely why.

They were very gracious hosts and we had a lovely time.

Several movies have been made here in Southport, North Carolina.

A few right here at the Fishy Fishy Cafe.

But we decided to go to the Provision Company with our friends on Short Vacation.

And of course, we had to stand 6 feet apart from other parties and have masks on.

I really can’t wait for life to get back to normal.

I’m sure you feel the same.

Well, it was a short night and we didn’t have a chance to check out the downtown area in Southport so we will definitely come back to explore more next time.
