On September 12, 2020, the Here’s To Us!! cruised from Donovan’s Shady Harbor in New Baltimore, New York over to the floating docks right by the Waterford Visitor Center in Waterford, New York.

Cruising down the Hudson is an experience that I hope you have.

When we left Donovan’s we weren’t sure exactly where we were going to stay.

There was supposed to be a tugboat roundup but it was canceled due to the Rona so there was a chance we could get a spot at the visitor center.

Fingers crossed!

Waterford, New York

Now, Waterford is a place where as a boater, you have to make a decision.

One way takes you to Lake Champlain and turning left takes you down the Erie Canal.

Last time through, that wall was packed!

There were even some boats rafted (double parked) off of each other.

You can read about that experience here or click the picture below to hear about that trip from our gold loop.

Troy Lock

This route took us through the Troy Lock which is also known as Lock 1 if going down the Erie. You can actually see Lock 2 of the Erie Canal when docked at the Waterford Visitor Center.

I have to tell you honestly that the Troy Lock wasn’t the monster that I remember it being.

That’s what experience will do for you. LOL

On to Waterford

It was a great day to be out on the water.

Although, near the Albany Yacht Club, Sam got carried away and ran into a bit of trouble.

You can hear all about it here.
